The university has no accommodation exclusively
for international students. In Sendai, there are three dormitories for them: Tohoku
University International House, Sendai International
House 1 and Sendai International House 2.
Though some international students live there,
most of them need to rent a privately
owned
apartment or enter dormitories of the
university.

apartment. An average apartment in
Japan has living room, kitchen, bath and toilet.

| 4. General Housing Insurance System
for International Students |
| In case of renting a private apartment in
Japan, a guarantor will be required. This insurance relieves the economic and
mental burden of the guarantor and
makes
